Chelsea began her path with yoga shortly after college in 2009. She danced her whole life at a studio and then for Illinois State University through nursing school. She remembers going to a gym after college and walking around aimlessly not having a clue what to do. She signed up for a half marathon because the “schedule” for half marathon training gave her a little more direction after years of training at a dance studio and on dance teams.

Through this schedule of half marathon training, she found herself in some yoga classes. She realized that this was the first time her body felt free, inspired, and rejuvenated, since dancing. It felt like something clicked into place and she found herself again. The anxiety she experienced as a child through high school and college somehow started to slip away and she started feeling like she came back to herself after not ever really knowing who she was.

She struggled with an eating disorder at a really young age in her early “tween” years and even though she recovered physically in high school, it was not until she found yoga that she recovered mentally. Through breath, movements, and finding “me time” on the mat she started to take this clarity off the mat into her everyday life.

Once she started practicing yoga and seeing her own transformation, she knew she had to share this with others.

As an open-heart surgical nurse in the operating room, it is her nature to give and to help others. She helps put people back together physically as a nurse and she knew teaching yoga would take her into this journey to help bring people back to themselves - mentally, emotionally, spiritually, and physically.

In November of 2013, Chelsea traveled to Bali, Indonesia for her 200-hour yoga alliance teacher training with School Yoga Institute where she studied with Anjili Russell (co-owner of Sadhana Yoga School) and Anita Sundaram. The training focused on Hatha and Vinyasa yoga. In April 2014, Chelsea finished her second 200-hour yoga alliance teacher training with CorePower Yoga in Chicago, IL that focused on Power Yoga. In 2020, Chelsea finished her 300-hour advanced yoga teacher training with Samadhi Yoga in Denver, CO.

After years of a nomadic lifestyle - travel nursing and teaching yoga all over the world, Chelsea has finally settled in Grand Junction, CO with her husband Charles and rescue dog Neytiri. Through teaching yoga, Chelsea hopes to inspire others to find the same connection that she has with herself and with others, on and off the mat. The magic always happens when we learn to be comfortable in the uncomfortable, when we learn to move from our breath space rather than our headspace.
